Hello everyone! I’m so happy to be here writing to you all. I plan on opening my blog again and fingers crossed I will stick with it. You see, blogging takes a lot of effort and accountability so I’m going to do my best to follow through this time. I will follow through this time!
I plan to make this year my year, I have two exciting trips planned, I started a new position at my job, my sewing has been better than ever and I finally have a budget system that’s working for me. I can’t wait to share all my tips, updates and announcements with everyone who’s willing to take a read.
Stay tuned, my posting schedule will be Sunday & Wednesday!
Hi guys! As a Canadian girl, I know it’s sooo hard finding a decent subscription box that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Today I’ll be sharing with you my experiences with FabFitFun as I put it to the test, seeing whether or not it’s worth the money.
First off, FabFitFun is 50 U.S. dollars. With shipping to Canada, it comes up to exactly $57.99 USD. This converts to $79.66 CAD with the exchange rate.
Sitting at the top of the box was a Gypsy, The Boho Beach Roundie. It has a cute design and is quite large once unfolded; perfect for a day at the beach. I could definitely take advantage of how compact this is. I live in an apartment and try – at least to the best of my abilities – to not keep things that I know I won’t use frequently, so I ended up shipping this off to my boyfriend’s mom who frequently jets off on cruises. I know she’ll get a lot of use out of it.
This Milly pouch is coming off rather white in the photo, but it’s actually pale green in person. It’s made of a canvas material on the outside, which feels nice and durable, and the inside is coated with a plastic/ rubber like layer, so if you want to keep your phone, wallet, or anything else in it at the beach they won’t get wet or sandy. It’d also be handy for toting wet swimwear home from the beach since the plastic/ rubber inlay won’t let water leak out.
“RESTING BEACH FACE” Milly pouch – $45 USD on its own ($61.82 CAD if you factor in the exchange rate).
This kit is really cute! I’ve already ordered the KL Polish spring collection, so I’ll leave these bottles sealed and pass them onto friends or family. Considering the quality of Deborah Lippmann polishes, and that these colours are perfect for spring, these would be getting plenty of love had I not ordered my KL polishes first (side note: Stay tuned for my review and swatches of the KL polish 2017 spring line).
This lip kit is a cute idea, modelling the Kylie Lip Kits but you also get a lip gloss. I don’t know if I would personally spend $48 on one of these kits, let alone the $65.94 CDN price tag but I can see their justification behind the price tag. Considering it’s almost the full cost of the box I am very happy for the extra addition to my makeup collection. I don’t do a bold lip everyday but I will still be getting lots of use of this kit. Also few facts about the brand they are cruelty free as well as free of parabens, sulfates, sythetic fragrences, gluten and phthalates. The colour payoff is amazing and the it does stay put once it’s dried down.
$48 ($65.94 CDN if you factor in the exchange rate from my box purchase)
This smells amazing!!! I’ve been wanting to try this Briogeo for a while now to see if it’s actually worth the hype. This Rosarco Milk has offically sold me. It smells so great and since I naturally always have tangles in my hair anything that can keep my hair smoother longer is welcome in my bathroom. A few sprays in my wet or damp hair and my hair is left super soft.
YES! My favourite part of subscriptions: New skincare. These masks didn’t make a huge difference but I also don’t have dry skin so this might not make the biggest difference ever for me. That being said there is something very luxourious about pampering yourself with a nice diy spa night and relax, kick back and throw on a mask. Same with the lipstick I can’t bring myself to spend $10 on one of these (or $34 for the 4 pack) so it’s really nice to have them for pampering.
I love a good scrub. I’ve only used this Dr. Bradt Microdermabrasion, a few times since I only try to use a scrub twice a week at most. The one downside, it kinda smells like cleaning chemicals. The thing that makes the downside worth it are the granules in this scrub are tiny and not chunky so they don’t feel scratchy on your face as some scrubs can. I think I will continue using the scrub but I don’t know if I will or can repurchase this. I can’t seem to find it online for purchase and the cost of this brand’s other scrub I cringe of spending that much money on one product. I am really grateful to have recieved this product as it is quite costly to purchase by oneself.
I couldn’t find the exact product but I found his other microdermabrasion here.
Lastly, I could not for the life of me get a worthy picture of these beautiful earrings. They’re the Diamond Kite Crawler + Stud Set in Rose Gold from LUV AJ. These are GORGEUOUS and I would never treat myself to accessories of this cost but I can already picture so many outfits this is going to improve.
These are $85.00 USD ($116.76 CND if you factor in the exchange rate from my box purchase)
Final verdict: I’m excited to try these products. Considering I received $497.30 worth of products for $79.66 I would say this is a great value. The box got me some fun products that I wouldn’t typically buy for myself so I can try out and pamper with. I’m not renewing for the summer 2017 box because I think I this box is going to be more of a treat than a every season purchase but I do see myself re-enrolling for the box in the future.
What do you guys think? Is FabFitFun worth the hype or is there another subscription available in Canada you think I should try out? Let me know in the comments below!
Hi guys! Today I’m going to share with you some of my favourite Youtubers! They give me inspiration for so many looks!
First off KathleenLights is the reason I really got into makeup. She has amazing reviews and fun looks that are easily accomplished. Lastly she didn’t get into makeup until her late teens which I can relate to. I apologize for not having pictures today, instead I’m providing links to the channels. Find her videos Here
Next off, Jaclyn Hill. I shouldn’t even need to say more. She is so spunky but seems so down to earth all at the same time. She will give you honest reviews and her time spent formerly as a makeup artist has given her great experience to share her knowledge with us! Find her videos Here
Next I love watching RachhLoves because she’s a Canadian girl just like me! I love seeing the products she gets because not everything American YouTubers get is available in Canada. RachLoves is the solution! She has a lot of budget friendly videos so you don’t feel overwhelmed by high end products. Find her videos Here
Lastly MannyMua is awesome!!!! He always gives a great eyelook and he has the greatest attitude. He uses mostly high end products but that’s okay because he still gives honest reviews. If you don’t follow him, go do it right now. He will open up your eyes that the makeup world is not only for women. Find his videos Here.

I’ve come across some dupes that could save you some serious $. Some are only consistency and not colour or smell but I promise it’s worth a read!
Dupe: Cornstarch and Benefit’s The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine
Yes! I’m serious! I know this sounds a little crazy but cornstarch makes a great alternative and wears just as amazing! Cornstarch is C$2.97 for 454 grams where Agent Zero Shine is C$39.00 for 6.8 grams.
Don’t: Maybelline Baby Skin and Benefit’s The Porefessional
They feel similar and upon first applying them they feel the same. My only complaints are the wear. I feel as if the Maybelline version doesn’t wear as well and my pores show more than with Benefit’s version.
Dupe: Wet n Wild’s Comfort Zone Palette and Any High End Eyeshadow
These shadows have some serious pigmentation! They’re colour payoff is so great I consider these a dupe for any Mac, Urban Decay or Too Faced etc. eyeshadows. High End $12 for individual pans and upwards, $25 and upwards for Palettes. Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette C$6.99
Dupe: Dove Bar Soap for Blender Cleanser by Beauty Blender
Yep Dove Bar Soap is the same thing! Dove Bar Soap C$3.47 for 4 Bars. Blendercleanser Solid C$22.00.

Today I have a haul to share with you of my purchases from IMATs Toronto 2015. Some of these purchases were made at the convention, but I definitely was more comfortable shopping at the Eaton Centre.
So let’s dive in!
My first booth was the Benefit booth! I purchased (from left) They’re Real Mascara, a Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Bikini Tini, The Porefessional and The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine.
I managed to snag a Z – palette. I’ve had this on my list of wants for some time now. You wouldn’t believe how annoying it is to get one in Canada.
Next I stopped at NYX. If you saw my last post then you would know that NYX was crazy! Anyway, I waited in the line because I needed to leave with NYX products or I knew I would kick myself later, so here you have it, the NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Ash Brown. It has already become a staple in my morning routine.
Next I grabbed the HD Concealer in CW 01 for underneath my eyes, and two Jumbo Eye Pencils in the colours 625 Sparkle Nude and 609 French Fries.
I was literally shaking when they handed me this! I was so excited and everyone around me probably thought I was crazy. I’ve been wanting this for far too long! The NYX Highlight and Contour Palette!
I went to this booth and they had TONS of falsies. I usually don’t wear falsies so I couldn’t bring myself to buy the Velour Lashes, although they were a great deal! I opted for the booth with 10 for $10.00. There is a wide assortment, unfortunately I didn’t think to get the name of the booth.
Next I stopped at Real Techniques to grab a blending sponge and this blush brush (I’ve already been loving this brush.) I also stopped by a booth selling Beauty Blenders at a great deal! You’ll have to stay tuned for my dupes blog to find out which sponge I like better.
Also at the Beauty Blender booth I grabbed a Solid Blendercleanser.
I stopped by the Makeup Eraser to grab this one. My goodness if you do not have one, go log onto your Sephora and order one right now! I know they’re a little costly but I’ve already washed mine 3 times and it works just as great every time! I absolutely LOVE this.
My last stop was Mac Cosmetics. My goodness they were so kind and helpful, unfortunately it was still a little busy so I only grabbed Rule while I was there. The remainder I purchases at the Mac Cosmetics in the Eaton Centre. Pictured from left are Copperring, Rule, Cranberry, and Deep Damson.
I literally could not leave Toronto without this baby. On the day we were supposed to leave, I begged to go back to the Eaton Centre so I could get this! I am so glad I did!
I picked up my NARS birthday gift from Sephora. It comes with Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Rikugien Satin Lip Pencil.
Have a good dupe for one of the items I’ve purchase? Let me know in the comments so I can give it a try!
I was very naive attending IMATS. I researched as much as I could to prepare myself. I heard it was going to be busy. But my goodness!! No research could have readied me for that! I got to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre early, but not early enough! The line to get into the building was down the road and around the corner. They brought us into the building and we lined up alllllll the way down the hall.
Eventually we got into IMATS! Yikes! That was even worse, there were line-ups everywhere! Morphe was lined up at least 2 or 3 times around the booth! I waited in line for NYX only to end up waiting in an even longer line to pay!
After visiting a few booths, I realized there was no end to the constant lines for the time being. I did remember that I heard if you come back later in the afternoon it dies down a little. So I told my boyfriend it was time to grab some lunch. (I would like to thank him yet again for letting me drag him around all day!)
Lunch time was AWESOME! If you ever near one, stop in and get a bite to eat and The Works! Best lunch ever! I went to the location at the corner of Wellington St East and Church Street in Toronto. They were so kind and courteous!
Our second round at IMATS was a little easier on my nerves, I was able to walk around a little more freely, I was a little bummed because Morphe was still crazy busy (I get too stressed if I’m being crowded and shoved). But I was able to head down to Mac and they were REALLY nice, and I was able to head to a few more booths and look in peace. My favourite booth was The Makeup Eraser booth. I went there with full intention to buy, they were sooo nice, even spent the time to show me a demo, while people were lining up behind me. They wanted me to make sure I wanted their product.
If you are planning on heading down to IMATS next year, or at another location, make sure you research the area and know where you want to go for lunch. Also wear comfortable shoes! There were girls walking around in heels and I was so grateful for my Nike’s that day! Lastly, if you are like me and don’t handle crowds well make sure you go in the afternoon (1 pm or later) you may risk an item being sold out already but I would rather pay full price than experience that craziness again!
Have you ever been to IMATS? If so leave a comment below with your experience and tips. I would love to hear how you guys stay stress free at IMATS!
Also stay tuned for my haul and first impressions from my IMATS weekend! Thank you!

Recently I have been inspired to share some knowledge I’ve gained about doing my own makeup. I really started to educate myself last year, I don’t claim to be professional but I will try my best to give you my most educated advice.
The most important thing I’ve ever heard when it comes to makeup is, not to be scared of it. It seems really intimidating at first but it is just makeup and you can wash it off.
Learn to match foundation and powders to your neck! This makes a world of a difference and you will not have the dreaded foundation line on your jaw bone.
Practice makes perfect! Don’t expect to master something in one night. Every night before you wash your face try out a new eye look or lip look, keep working on the look every night until you are completely satisfied with your results.
No girl should be expected to look like a Victoria’s Secret model everyday. Most days I only wear mascara and comb my eyebrows. If I were to do my face completely made up everyday I would be breaking out all the time.
Drugstore makeup can be just as good if not better! It took me a few months (and a pretty penny) to realize there are brands that make affordable makeup that is still insanely high quality. You don’t need to spend your whole paycheck on that new palette that came out at Sephora. If you go on YouTube there are endless reviews of drugstore makeup. Go take a look!
Thank you for reading my first post ever! I really appreciate you taking the time to hear my tips! I would like to hear from you, what is the most helpful thing you’ve ever been told about makeup? Leave your reply down below!
